We all want free and fair elections with good security and equitable access. We need to come together as a community to support all legal voters to ensure they have an opportunity to cast a ballot in each election including November 2021. We can undertake a voter registration and information drive to inform and assist our local community leading up to the election. Making information more accessible and pushing it out to potentially disenfranchised groups will improve accessibility and equity in our election system. Advocacy efforts including gathering public support and amplifying the voices of marginalized voters would help increase awareness in the community and may help influence state legislators.

PROJECT GOALS

The goal of this project is to create awareness campaigns in the below four areas. This will educate voters on their options and provide safe and efficient processes in order to amplify their voices.

  • Registering to Vote: Aiding and educating people through the completion of registration forms
  • Receiving Absenteeism Ballot: Making people aware of their options with absentee voting.
  • Getting to the Polls: Driving people with transportation barriers to the polls to increase voter turnout.
  • Voice of Community in Redistricting Decisions: Ohio lost a proportion and therefore lost a representative, so the state must go through a redistricting process. However, many might not know that the general public can participate in this decision-making process.

We have a civic duty to vote and this privilege shouldn’t be suppressed for any group. We are seeking eager volunteers to promote these campaigns on social media as well as on the ground grassroots style. Our goal is to get as many people to vote as possible.
